About Emma

Emma: Playing Agility

Emma came home with us at age 5 (approximately) from Seattle Animal Shelter in 1997. She's a mutt for sure and your welcome to send me your guess as to her heritage. We spent the first year getting to know one another. There were many issues including dog-to-dog aggression, fear of loud noises, and eating all things organic. We worked on these issues and I taught her some basic obedience (sit, down, stay, come). Emma did her best, and I figured we were ready to try something more adventurous. We attempted dog agility classes with Rainier Agility Team. They were very kind to us, but we needed a lot of training.

After 18 months of training, we attended our first agility trial. Agility is a lot of fun, and we always have a great time. In the beginning, Emma and I had difficulty learning to work together. Emma had her own agenda and so did I! We have learned a lot, and Emma will always be a challenge for my training, but that's not what matters. What matters is that we have a good time together and of course, she's the cutest dog in the whole world!

The rest of this site has information about dog agility and other fun activities you can try with your own furry mutt. Please take a look around, and of course, if you have any comments, please contact me.
